Simply put, I purchased a license for $23 + $2 fee > entered it into the plugin > noticed an update that wasn't there before > updated the (LayerSlider) plugin and it blew up my admin dashboard, I couldn't access or do anything (500 internal server error).

This left me with 2 options, use the FTP tool to delete the plugin all together or just use the backup tool that my host has. I deleted the plugin and got my site back, but I was sad to have to get rid of the slider I was using before buying a license so I used the backup tool and lost a few hours of work on my site. For good measure I carefully tried inputing the purchase code and making the same update to confirm that it was indeed the reason my site blew up.

All that being said, I do not want the purchase code that allowed me to update the plugin because there is something wrong with the latest plugin. I will be using the backup from yesterday to go back to the original version that came with the theme and I will not update it. Please refund me for this purchase only a few hours ago. Thanks.

    Hello bradfordneumann,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

There is no issue like this present in the latest release of our plugin (6.6.7.), no other user reported this and we did not experience this on our end either. Unfortunately it is most likely a conflict problem on your installation or a server configuration issue.
You could try to troubleshoot it by temporary disabling other plugins and switching to a default theme to see if that solves the issue.
You could also check the LayerSlider System Status, located on the WP sidebar for any related error messages that could provide more information.

Furthermore, the "Internal server error" (error 500) is a web server configuration issue, related to your host. The "Internal server error" is almost always a PHP error related problem, but currenty the exact error message is not visible as the WP debug mode is not enabled. Please try to enable it and look for any PHP errors in the logs that could provide more information.

If you're not familiar with it, your host should be able to investigate this for you as well.

Hello Attila, whatever the issue is, server, theme, etc., I know that the latest version of LayerSlider is what's triggering it. Therefore, I do not want to use the plugin, I will and have already started using another slider that works just fine. How do I get reimbursed for the license purchase of this product I am not going to use?

As I've already mentioned the latest release of LayerSlider does not contain such error. Unfortunately we are not able to provide you with a refund in a case where the issue is not located in our item.
