Incomplete & Unresponsive Edit UI in IE11

From the attached image, you see that I have an incomplete and unresponsive LayerSlider Edit UI in IE11 on Windows 7 x64.  It works on my Moto Z Force Droid, on my old Nexus 7 tablet, and the marketing lady's Edge & Safari browsers.  As you know, Kreatura lists LS 4 WP as compatible with IE 11.

UI is missing backgrounds, thumbnails, and some colored toggle indicators.  Most linked features fail to respond to clicks, though mouse-over generates the appropriate pointers, thumbnails, and tool tips.  No layers render, no layers are selectable, entire Edit UI is unusable, resulting in a useless development product.  :(

    Hello VitalPro,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

LayerSlider supports IE11. We've been testing the plugin on it and did not face issues like this before. We did not receive reports regarding this problem from other users either.

We believe that it might be a localized issue on your end, related to your browser.

Please try to temporary disable your browser addons and other extensions to see if they are interfering with the plugin. You could also try to reinstall the browser.

Thank you for your deep insight, your careful consideration, and thank you especially for your wise and thoroughly thoughtful guidance, Atilla.

I understand you believe that it might be a localized issue, and I agree.  That is why I sent you the image of my localized experience.  I understand that you believe it is on my end, and I agree.  That is exactly why I compared my experiences with Kreatura's LS 4 WP in other environments and browsers.

I understand that you believe the issue relates to my browser.  Yes, precisely!   :O   That is why I titled this ticket with "IE11" - because I agree.  So far, we agree on all points!  So far, we are no closer to a solution.  :(

I understand you want me to *try to* temporarily disable my browser add-ons and other extensions, to see if they are interfering with the plug-in. Wow!  Okay, well: I did that before I thought about contacting you.  I did not want to waste your time.

Speaking of wasting time, I also searched the Internet, and more specifically, I searched Kreatura's knowledgebase for similar issues and resolutions.  Rest assured, I am familiar with troubleshooting.  I started my career in web development in 1998, so please understand that dysfunctional WordPress plugins are not new to me.

You suggested further that I should *try to* reinstall the browser.  Try to?  Was this like "trying to" disable my browser add-ons?  Do you know who Yoda is?  One of his most famous quotes is, "Do, or do not.  There is no 'try'!"

I did everything you suggested.  I did all of it before I came to you for help.  You have done nothing to help me.  Personally, I do not think you even "tried to" help me.  This is the second-worst experience I have had with a paid product from ThemeForest and EnvatoMarket.

Your plug-in does not work.  Your support does not even appear "to try to" help.  I would like to surrender my paid license and return this non-functioning paid product for a full refund.  Now, what do I need to do to make that happen?

    Completely disappointed,

    Matthew

I understand your frustration and I'm sorry about the inconveniences you are experiencing, however as I've mentioned LayerSlider supports IE11 and works on it without any problem.

We've tested it multiple times on updates, and as I've also mentioned no other user reported any issue related to IE11 recently. So this error is most likely a localized problem on your end.

If you set up a temporary WP login for us, we can check on the back-end to see what might be wrong.

Okay, maybe you can help me address the problem you believe is on my end.  First, let's determine the best operating environment for IE11 on Windows 7.  Earlier, you suggested I reinstall IE11.  Without additional detail, you leave me under the impression that IE11's installation defaults on Windows 7 provide a user the desired browser environment for use with your LS plugin.

Following your guidance, I reinstalled IE11 on my developer workstation.  I also took the Operations Manager's Acer Laptop (also running Windows 7), because she does not work in a developer environment, so it seems likely her settings more closely resemble a conventional user's environment.  With her blessing and permission, I reinstalled IE11 on her laptop.

From fresh installs and with only default plug-ins and add-ons, I navigated to the LS Edit UI in our WordPress site using both computers.  The development workstation experience was exactly the same as it was before.  The Acer laptop experience was identical to the workstation's.

I conferred with our Data Systems Administrator regarding the issue, sharing your insight and guidance.  I asked him if he knew of domain restrictions that could cause the same problem to exist only on these two computers, but nowhere else in the world, on any other computer anywhere, ever.  It took a few minutes, but he finally stopped laughing at me when he realized I was very serious, and that I had come to him deliberately for his exceptional range of understanding in the realm of this issue.

He said, "Ask Atilla for the correct IE11 ActiveX settings.  Find out if they use cross-site scripting, and get a list of all of the Java, JavaScript, and Flash settings, if any, on which their utility relies.  You may only run scripts on the web server hosting WordPress.  You may not run LS scripts on your local machine, even if their plug-in requires it.  That's neither a normal practice nor a secure one.  Atilla will understand."

So, now I want to know if you can help me.  Can you help me?

    I need to know:
    1.  Do you use cross-site scripting?
    2.  Could you please list of all of the Java, JavaScript, and Flash settings, if any, on which your utility relies in IE11?

Maybe this will help illustrate the source of the problem.  Why is this disabled?  Where do I enable it?  What else must I enable, and how can I do that?   O_o

Thank you for the feedback. I'll let the development team look into your case to see what they can find, and I'll get back to you with the results. We appreciate your patience while we're working towards your ticket.

    Hello again,

The dev team did not find anything wrong in the plugin so far, regarding this case. Please set up a temporary WP login for them, so they can look into this further from your back-end.

Please also note that IE11 is an outdated browser. It was released more than 4 years ago and it is no longer supported by its developers. It was already considered obsolete by modern web standards when it was released, and it basically became ancient technology since then. LayerSlider runs and displays its sliders on IE11, but there are several features and effects that do not work on it, for example 3D transformations. This is not because of LayerSlider, but because of the limitations of the browser.

We are doing everything in order to make every aspect of the plugin available on IE as well, but when it comes to modern methods, it's not always possible because of the browser restrictions.

Regardless of this, we'd recommend to use Chrome / Mozilla Firefox or other modern browser to use the plugin's back-end and to create sliders.
