I have updated to 6.6.5 and am now getting a "forbidden" error on my server while saving. This was fixed by giving "write" permissions to "world". The process of giving permissions to this plugin and then revoking them for security requires me to contact my host, or change permissions on every file and folder within the plugins/LayerSlider folder by hand. Is there another way that I can fix this save error? Thank you.

This seems to be a server configuration issue. LayerSlider uses the file permissions recommended by WordPress, so it should be good from our end. If this needs to be corrected on your server, it suggests that it was configured this way on purpose so changing it is going to be necessary.
Unfortunately there is no universal file permission that works for everyone and everything. But the ones we are using (recommended by WordPress) should be good for the average server and for most user.
Since your host seems to be handling things different than the usual, you will either need to keep changing these permissions or ask your host to configure the server differently, where this doesn't occur anymore.
