Trouble with posting

    Hi,

I have a website called icorporatetrainings.com.  I had the layer slider as part of the theme and have configured the layer slider and added slides and using it.

The issue is whenever I want to create a new post, unless I disable the layer slider plugin I am not able to create posts.  As I have created the sliders already, I do not want to remove the plugin and upload the plugin since I may need to recreate the slides which is slightly time consuming for me.

Earlier, I have raised this issue in Themeforest, you asked to buy the license to provide the support.

Now I have purchased the plugin, request support in resolving the issue.

    Hello rbs100,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

There is no issue like this present in the latest release of our plugin (6.6.4.), so unfortunately it is most likely another conflict problem on your installation or a server configuration issue.
To start troubleshooting please try to temporary disable other plugins and switch to a default theme to see if that solves the issue.
Please also check the LayerSlider System Status, located on the WP sidebar for any related error messages that could provide more information.

Additionally, unfortunately some themes are restricting the plugin in certain ways that could result in problems like this. I'd recommend to manually update the plugin by downloading the newest release from CodeCanyon and reinstalling LayerSlider. You will need to completely remove the bundled version first, as there cannot be two instances of the plugin present on your installation. Please note that your sliders and settings are stored in the database so they won't be deleted in the process. You can also find detailed installation instructions in the documentation, please refer to the following URL: https://support.kreaturamedia.com/docs/layersliderwp/documentation.html#plugin-setup

    Hi,

I did not say the plugin I bought has the problem. What I am saying is that, the theme I bought some time back had this plugin pre-installed.  It was working for some time.  Later, after sometime, I was able to create blog posts only if the plugin got disabled.  I checked up with Layer Slider team. I was told that, I need to buy the plugin to get support so the team will help to resolve the issue quickly.  Now I bought the plugin.  I am looking to fix this long impending issue.  This means, the earlier version was had the issue and not sure about the current version.  I want to fix this issue without uninstalling the plugin

As I've mentioned there is no known issue like this with LayerSlider at the moment, so it is unlikely that our plugin interferes with your posts. No other user rerported this so far either, the issue is likely related to your theme.

Which version of LayerSlider do you use currently ? Also, do you still use the theme bundled version ?

As I have mentioned I am using very older version.  When I disable the plugin I was able to create new posts and when I enable I am not.  Now I need to update with the latest version without removing it.  How to do?

As I've mentioned your sliders and settings are stored in the database. Even if you remove and then reinstall the plugin, they won't be deleted in the process. So you can freely reinstall it.

But if you don't want to reinstall, you can use the auto-update feature to update: https://support.kreaturamedia.com/docs/layersliderwp/documentation.html#updating

Removed the plugin and did a fresh install.  Still the same old status.

Please set up a temporary WP login for us, so we can look at this problem from the back-end, to see if we can locate the source of the issue. Please also describe in more details what posts should we look at exactly, and how can we reproduce the issue.

    Hello rbs100,

I found the problem: in the LayerSlider backend, under the Advanced tab, the "Use Google CDN version of jQuery" option was enabled. Please note, that almost all settings under the Advanced tab can cause various issues, so we not recommend to use them unless you must troubleshoot another issue.

Thank you.  Where can I view this option?  How can I retrieve my slider before reinstalling this plugin?

You can find the Advanced settings if you click LayerSlider WP on the wp-admin sidebar and you scroll down.

Reinstalling the LayerSlider won't delete your sliders. They are stored in a database so even if you delete the plugin, your sliders will be safe.
