Two settings on my slider keep resetting themselves.
a) I would like the music to keep playing as the slideshow repeats, only stopping when the song is over. To achieve this, I've set it to "forever" and saved it. However, it continually resets to "until the end of slide #10," which is currently the last slide, which causes the music to end after the first play-through of the slideshow. I save it, and the problem corrects itself for a while, but it will eventually reset itself.
b) On slide #2, I have an orange background as the first layer. This should be set to "until the end of this slide," which makes the background disappear before the next slide. I have set it this way and saved it. But it keeps resetting to "until the end of slide #2," which theoretically should give the same result, but doesn't: that setting leaves the slide up forever, even through multiple repeats of the slide show. I save it, and it corrects itself for a while, but then resets to "end of slide #2" again, which leaves the orange background up underneath all the other slides once again.
Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.
This sounds very strange. We are not aware of such issue, no other user reported it so far and we did not experience it on our end either.
What I can think of is that you've accidentally 'undo' these changes somehow. Or your server has some kind of backup solution that interferes with the database.
I guarantee you I am not accidentally hitting "undo": the undo button is not in a spot where it's easily deployed, and this problem has become so pervasive that I am being extra careful, in fact, and saving after each change at this point. I wondered about the same thing regarding back up and according to my server I am set to back up only once a day, so if that were the problem it would have occurred only once each 24 hours. It happened again today more than once. I will get screen shots next time to show that the settings are correct and saved, and then to show when they are reset, but I don't know how to prove I'm not doing it myself. I'm really not, I swear. This is not happening in any other plug in or program I use. I tried deactivating other plugins to see if there's a conflict and the problem still occurred. I wondered if perhaps the issue was only visible to me when I was working on the slider, but I looked at it from the front end on firefox (not Safari as we've already determined there's some weirdness there) and the problem was visible.
I see. Thank you for the feedback. We still believe that this is most likely a server configuration issue. Since you've ruled out incompatibilities with 3rd party items on your installation, this cannot really be anything else.
Unfortunately we do not have the necessary tools or permissions to investigate your server settings. Please contact with your hosting again and ask them to look into this problem. They can see the PHP errors and search through logs around the time when the issue occurs. They should be easily locate the source of the issue from their end.
