I updated LayerSlider and now there are glitches from my theme making it not work well. How can I revert back to a previous version of the plugin?

    Hello Heidi Mitrushi,

Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.

We have released a new update yesterday, please update the plugin to the latest version to see if that helps. If there's still a conflict, we can send you an earlier release here. Which version were you using ?

  • Heidi Mitrushi replied

Unfortunately, the update didn't help. I don't remember what version I was using before I updated. I'm finding out and will get back to you....Thanks.

If you could describe the problem in more details and/or show it to us, we might be able to troubleshoot it, so you don't have to revert. But in the meantime we can provide you with an earlier release of course, if you tell us which one do you need.

I'm not sure how else to show it to you besides just going to the website. The gradient flashes on and off so you can't read the white text on the left side of the slider sometimes. It's on the home page: https://sbmweb.com/ and it looks like this on both chrome and safari. The grayish gradient will show up when the slide is about to change to the next slide, then flash off.

The attachments show the white space where there is text, but without the gradient you can't see it, and the next shows the white text that you can barely see because the gradient is gone. It comes back for a split second when the slide is about to change.

Thank you for the feedback. My colleagues and I will look into this to see if we can find anything, and get back to you shortly.

We've looked into this further and confirmed that this problem is not caused by the slider, it's related to your theme.

Your theme is adding plus elements to the slider (with :before), that are applying all kinds of CSS attributes. Since version 6 (that was released a year ago) the plugin is generating a slightly different source, and most likely your theme did not follow up on these changes with their custom methods. Unfortunately reverting back to version 5 would not solve this problem either, as updating to version 6 updates the plugin's database as well.

The problem is located in this file: https://sbmweb.com/wp-content/themes/success/css/commercegurus.css

    From line 5952. to 6062.

This file is filled with custom styling settings that are overwriting the slider's default values. You will need to remove these codes, otherwise the slider will not properly unfortunately.

My theme support told me I should be using version 6.5.7 - is it possible for me to downgrade to that version or no? Their theme is only updated enough to handle up to that version.

I've attached that version, so you can reinstall the plugin with the older release.

Thanks! One more question - will I have to recreate all of my sliders once I reinstall the old plugin or will it keep them?

Your sliders and settings are stored in the database so they won't be deleted in the process.
