I'm learning to use LayerSlider, which I've just installed. I've created a slider and it works fine. However, when I try to add a layer, it's ignored. I've tried text and a link to a post, but without success. I'm using the latest release of LayerSlider 6.
Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.
I'm sorry, but it's not completely clear. Are you unable to link a text layer to an URL, or is there some issue with the builder that does not allow you to add new layers at all ?
Also, there are many source materials available you can check, that will help you get started using LayerSlider. The documentation contains detailed information and examples that you can read on the following URL: https://support.kreaturamedia.com/docs/layersliderwp/documentation.html You can also read the interactive tooltip & notification messages integrated into the Slider Builder interface, with descriptions of the settings by hovering over each one of them. Finally, you can import the demo sliders from the Template Store to see what settings we used and how we set them up exactly.
Thanks for the reply, Attila. I'm an experienced developer and have the instructions open while working with the software.
I've created a slider with five slides. On the first one, using the Content tab, I added a text layer. Clicked Save Changes. I tested the display - both preview and published - and it didn't reveal the text. I then selected the Links & Attributes tab and selected a URL for a post on the site from the dropdown list (nice feature by the way). Clicked Save Changes. Again, nothing happened when I click on the slide.
I've investigated this further using an imported slider. I was able to get a link to work by attaching it to a textual content layer. However, I want the link to work without needing text. In other words, how do I set up the slide so that clicking anywhere on it will activate the link?
You can link your whole slide in the Slides -> Slide Linking section. You have to press the Show More Options button to be able to see it. This option will apply the URL to the whole slider canvas.

I've attached a screen shot of the tab.
