TWO ISSUES: 1) Every day or two the home page slides just stops working. The images disappear. I go into the dashboard, open the one and only slider, click 'save changes', and it works again.
The hosting company, SiteGround set this up so two URLs are going into the same WordPress database. I don't need two URLs and plan to have them get rid of one. Any chance that could be causing the problem? 2) Also, I can't upgrade to version 6.6.1 I get this message: "An error occurred while updating LayerSlider WP: Update package not available".
Thank you for getting in touch with us. My name is Attila and I'm happy to assist you today. I appreciate your patience while we've been working towards your ticket.
The 'Update package not available' or similar error messages during the update process, are most likely symptoms of an interfering 3rd party theme or plugin. We are constantly notifying and working together with various authors whenever we notice such issue. Unfortunately, these issues cannot be fixed from our end and a temporary solution is updating manually (https://support.kreaturamedia.com/docs/layersliderwp/documentation.html#plugin-setup) or temporarily disabling other plugins and switching to the default WP theme.
Another possibility might be a stuck activation. If you've used our online tools to remotely deactivate a site (or asked us to do the same on your behalf) your site might no longer be activated. The same can be true if your purchase code has been revoked due to a refund or another reason. In cases like this deactivating your site and then immediately re-activating it can help.
Regarding the images disappearing. Yes, the problem could be related to the double URLs. Judging from your description the issue is that the path to the images is being disrupted or changed, so the slider is not able to display them anymore. You could try to enable the Use relative URLs option in the Slider Settings -> Misc tab to see if that helps.
