m I suppose to be able to delete multiple layers from a slide without having to save the changes after each delete AND going back to 'All Sliders', then selecting my slider again?
Currently, only after doing all that am I able to delete another layer. What a pain in the butt!
I'm using Chrome and have the latest updates to all software.

This is not normal. You should be able to save any change without having to navigate to the Slider Settings first. You should also be able to delete multiple layers at once by selecting more than one in the editor.
There is no issue like this present in the latest release of our plugin (6.6.0.), so unfortunately it is most likely a conflict problem on your installation. To start troubleshooting please try to temporary disable other plugins and switch to a default theme to see if that solves the issue. Please also check the LayerSlider System Status, located on the WP sidebar for any related error messages that could provide more information.
