Your slider was part of the package deal. However in my theme it says there is an update. Layer Slider 6.5.8 it says 6.5.5 installed but not activated, requires update. I click update.

Now my second question: Since it is pre-loaded already. I want to customize a slider in the BeTheme. The current slider has two slides in it. I add one more additional slide, update and publish it and the third slide never appears. I have gone through everything to make sure a setting wasn't hiding the slide. The slide says it's visible, and that its published. I can physically see the third slide in the editor menu. However when I go to preview the site it only shows the first two.

Unfortunately some themes are restricting the update and/or activation method of the plugin that could result in problems like this. I'd recommend to manually update the plugin by downloading the newest release from CodeCanyon and reinstalling LayerSlider. You will need to completely remove the bundled version first, as there cannot be two instances of the plugin present on your installation. Please note that your sliders and settings are stored in the database so they won't be deleted in the process. Regarding the 3rd slide not appearing. This is most likely going to be related to cache. Please try to look for any caching plugin or solution on your installation (might be part of your theme) that could prevent the changes from going live on your front-end.
