You can enable the Pause on hover option in the Slider Settings -> Slideshow tab. You can pause the slidehow and the layer animations as well with it, when you hover your mouse over the slider. Unfortunately at the momoent it's not possible to apply this effect on a single layer, only on the whole slider.
