We are not familiar with "thegrid" from theme co, so unfortunately we cannot tell or guarantee that it will work properly. However LayerSlider supports shortcodes and parses their content on the front-end. So if there is a shortcode available that you can use to insert the grid as an HTML layer type in the slider, the corresponding content should appear on the front-end.
If you show us a test page where we can see the slider with the shortcode inserted we can take a look, but unfortunately it's possible that it won't work.

in an html layer type?
it doesn't work.. i get only a text layer with the code.... i'm missing something?

Yes, the shortcode should look something like that.
Please note that the actual content of the shortcode will not be visible in the admin/editor, only on your front-end (site).
