Slider doesn't start in fullscreen sections

    Hi there,

I've set up a very basic slideshow (images only), and placed it into a fullscreen row using the Salient theme (v 8.0.16) in WordPress 4.8.1. When the slider is placed into the topmost row in a page, everything works as expected. When placed in a lower row however, the slider does not advance.

I've disabled every plugin with the exception of LayerSlider (6.5.5), Salient Visual Composer (5.0.11), and Contact Form 7 (4.8.1), and the issue persists. FWIW, the same issue appears if I attempt the same layout using the Bridge theme (11.1).

I'm currently developing the site locally, so I'm afraid that I can't direct you to a url.

Appreciate your helping solving this issue!

    Thanks,

    Scott

    Hey Scott,

Unfortunately it's hard to tell what could be wrong exactly without seeing the slider live or without knowing your settings.

What I can think of is that, you might not have selected the "Normal" option for the "Mode" setting in the "Full size" layout when you positioned your slider further down the page. The "Hero" option is for sliders that are placed at the top of the page. However you cannot use the "Hero" option for sliders that are out of the viewport on page load.

    Hey Attila,

Thanks for the suggestions. Digging in a bit deeper however, it appears that having the "start only in viewport" option selected (slider settings >  slideshow > start only in viewport) is the culprit. With this option turned off, the slider does play, with the caveat that it won't absolutely start on the first slide when scrolling to the row.

    Thanks again for your help,

    Scott
