Regarding the update error, please try to deactivate and reactivate the license on your installation. This should help in most cases. If this does not do the trick please navigate to the Dashboard->Updates menu and try to update there.
We have also uploaded the new release to CodeCanyon, so you can also download it and manually update the plugin by reinstalling it. Your sliders and settings are stored in the database so they won't be deleted in this process.
