    Hello.

I was working with layerslider on two sites (one is mine, https://seo-wordpress.it/ and the other one is about a customer of mine https://www.10wattlocation.com/ ).

I will buy other license for other customer, but need to solve problems with Google Pagespeed Insights.

Infact when I make analysis to those sites, it result really slow on mobile.

The big problem it's the number of CSS and JS created from your plugin.

I've tried to use the advanced settings (look at the screenshot) but nothing happens.

Google pagespeed insights give us a lot of CSS and JS that slow down the site (look the other screenshot).

Before use it on other customer sites, we need to solve these problems.

Thanks a lot in advance, Antonello.

You can also take a look to Google Pagespeed Insights test on our homepage with and without Layer Slider.

The slide have optimized images, the problem is about CSS and JS, they slow down, terrible slow down, our homepage speed.

Look at the next two attachments.

    Hey Antonello,

Naturally when you're loading a large amount of images and other content within the slider, it's going to slow down your site.

At the moment LayerSlider does not provide functions that are usually handled by cache plugins, the images are not compressed automatically either.

I'd recommend to check the warnings again, they should mostly be related to caching solutions which normally should be handled by cache plugins. Optimizing images is not really a task either that is related to our plugin.

"Your page has 33 blocking script resources and 13 blocking CSS resources. This causes a delay in rendering your page."

Please note that the Page Insights does not list every script. As you can see from the above quoted sentence, it is clear that it's not only about LayerSlider. Basically, this report is related to every single script on your site.

This automated test is giving feedback based on your whole site alltogether, not just LayerSlider.

As you've mentioned, you can use LayerSlider's advanced settings to improve its performance, but unfortunately WordPress has its limitations and restrictions, so you cannot optimize it as good as a custom made site.

Please also note that these kind of tests can never be fully trusted, as they often provide false reports and values.
