Sliders disappeared after restoring from Updraft Plus backup

I am running WordPress 4.8, Fruitful Theme 3.3.1 and LayerSlider WP 6.5.1.  My environment consists of PHP 5.6.30 and MySQL 5.6.36 and LayerSlider WP status reports everything OK.

I needed to restore my WordPress site from an Updraft Plus backup (Updraft Plus v 1.13.4).  The Updraft Plus restore completed with no errors, but the sliders that I created in LayerSlider were missing (not displayed on the website and missing from the "Your Sliders" page in the LayerSlider WP Settings (WordPress Dashboard).

I ended up restoring the missing sliders by doing the steps below.  Do you understand why this happened and what I could do in the future to ensure that my Updraft Plus backup/restore works without the additional manual deactivate/activate/import steps?  Thank you.

    1. Deactivate LayerSlider WP plugin
    2. Activate LayerSlider WP plugin
    3. Import sliders that had previously been exported from my WordPress site

Note that importing the sliders without first deactivating/activating LayerSlider did not restore the missing sliders.

    Thank you for your help.

    Hey Tony Celia,

LayerSlider uses custom database tables. We are not familiar with the Updraft Plus plugin's methods but we believe that it most likely doesn't save custom database tables, only the default ones used by WordPress.

The fact that you had to reactivate the plugin confirms this, as the reactivation refreshes/recreates the database tables if needed.

We do not think that this error is related to LayerSlider. The backup plugins should handle these kind situations, as there are many plugins using the method that LayerSlider does.
