Frozen Backend Slider Editor
Closed

Using version 6.5.1 on WP 4.8.

My problem is that while the frontend of the site works fine (slider on website, transitions, etc), the backend editor for my specific slider seems frozen. Specifically, I can open LS from the backend, and I can click on and see a slider in admin mode. But once I've clicked on a slider and the editor opens, the buttons and tabs don't bring up any content. (e.g., Content, Transitions, Links & Attributes, etc. seem frozen).

I can create a new slider and everything does function normally so it appears it is an issue with the slider itself. I would just create a new slider to see id it remedies the issue but it is VERY customized.

This is very similar to previous ticket #  1049027 but has not helped me.

I've attempted to disable all plugins (only using backupguard), I've tried two other themes with no success. I've tried IE and Firefox. I've also exported the slider and cleared cache and re-installed LS and re-imported the slider and still no success.

    Hey benjaminjohn123,

That is a rather strange issue and unfortunately we cannot really tell what's wrong exactly with this much information.

It is most likely a web server configuration issue. In your case it could be a memory limitation problem or execution time limit, because you are trying to utilize more content than your server can handle in the given amount of time. But it might be generated by something else as well.

This is almost always a PHP error related problem, but currenty the exact error message is not visible as the WP debug mode is not enabled. Please try to enable it and look for any PHP errors in the logs that could provide more information.   https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG  https://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPress

If you're not familiar with it, we can also look into it after you enabled the WP debug mode. We will need a WP login in this case.

Thank you, I was able to login. We are going to investigate it and get back to you.

It seems like your slider became corrupted somehow throughout the saving method. There could be numerous reasons for that, interfering 3rd party plugin, server or PHP error, etc. In any case, I believe that I have managed to fix it. If you check it now, it should be working.
