GoDaddy has confirmed that PHP 5.3 or higher is running on the server, so it's not that.

When I attempt to activate version 6.2.2 of the plugin on WordPress 4.7.4 I get the following error message:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/42/8041042/html/wp-content/plugins/layersliderwp/layerslider.php on line 109

GoDaddy Managed Services Team has had looked at the issue and provided the following response. Can I download version 6.3.0 of the plugin somewhere to give them, or do you have other suggestions on correcting the problem? LayerSlider came bundled with my Sterling WordPress theme:

"We have replaced your current LayerSlider with the one that you uploaded via FTP but the issue persists. See screenshot: https://www.screencast.com/t/fydEeP0S8O There's an update available for LayerSlider. You are currently using version 6.2.2, the latest is 6.3.0. Updating it might fix the issue. https://support.kreaturamedia.com/docs/layersliderwp/documentation.html#release-log We suggest that you contact the author of the LayerSlider plugin and ask for the latest version. Once you have the latest LayerSlider version send it to us so we can update your plugin manually. A backup of your website was completed before performing this request. "

    Dear christopherdawes,

If you've received LayerSlider as a bundled plugin in your theme, item support and updates will be provided by the theme author. Please contact the author of your theme with this case and about the available new versions.

Alternatively, you can purchase a license from us, so we can provide our support services for you, along with our auto-update solution, beta and early access releases and exclusive offers for our direct buyers as well.
