Version 4.6 is a really old release, it is more than 4 years old now. The plugin has changed drastically multiple times since then, so the auto-update feature might not be working properly in it unfortunately.

I'd recommend to manually update the plugin by downloading it from CodeCanyon. You can find installation and updating instructions in the documentation on the following URL: https://support.kreaturamedia.com/docs/layersliderwp/documentation.html#plugin-setup

Please note that your sliders are stored in the database so they won't be deleted in the process.
