I had LayerSlider Wordpress 5.something from a theme purchase. I just paid (over an hour ago) to purchase the plugin so that it could auto update. I signed out of envato and signed back in. I also put my purchase code in the appropriate box and clicked the "update" button. I keep getting "An unexpected error occurred" message. Please help.

Hey Andy,
Please check the LayerSlider System Status located on the WP sidebar to see if there are any related error messages. The update might be prevented by an invalid server setting.

The "LayerSlyder WP" (on the WP Sidebar) does not indicate any error messages.
I'm sorry but I'm not sure what do you mean by that. Were you able to locate and check the System Status ?
Or are you using an older version of LayerSlider which did not have this feature yet ?
I have version 5.6.5
I do not see "System Status"
In this case that feature was not included yet so you cannot check it unfortunately to find out the problem.
I'd recommend manually reinstalling the plugin to solve the updating issue. You can find detailed installation instructions in the documentation on the following url that will help you: https://support.kreaturamedia.com/docs/layersliderwp/documentation.html#installation
Please note that your sliders are stored in the database so they will not be deleted in the process.
Failed. It looks like it wants me to delete the original file then upload the new version. But Aren't my slides in the original folder? Will I loose my slides if I. delete that original folder?
Yes, you will need to remove the current version first to be able to install the new one.
As mentioned in the previous reply, your sliders are stored in the database so they will not be deleted in this reinstalling process.
