Layer slider apparentlly has 2 installations on my site and I get error messages about it. Do not know how to delete one plug in without losing all my files.
if(defined('LS_PLUGIN_VERSION') || isset($GLOBALS['lsPluginPath'])) { die('ERROR: It looks like you already have one instance of LayerSlider installed. WordPress cannot activate and handle two instanced at the same time, you need to remove the old version first.'); }
You should not delete the data files, only the plugin itself. To do that first you need to disable and then remove it in the Plugins WP menu, after that you can install the new release. This procedure should not delete any of the plugin data. But to be sure you can also save your current sliders by using the built-in export feature.
Yes, I was referring to the delete option. As mentioned this does not delete the plugin data as it is stored in the database, so you can freely remove the plugin. Of course regardless it's always a good measure to create backup (export).
Unfortunately we cannot tell much from only screenshots. Please show us this test page where we can see the error, so we can check for the source of the jQuery conflict.

Hey Jeffrey,
Your sliders and settings are stored in the database so they won't be deleted in the reinstalling process.
You can also find installation and updating instructions in the documentation on the following url: https://support.kreaturamedia.com/docs/layersliderwp/documentation.html#plugin-setup
Not according to the warning if I delete the data files.
sounds a bit too risky to me
Hello.... I would appreciate a response to my concerns in my previous post.
I thank you and my customers thank you!

Call me stupid but I cannot figure out how to "first you need to disable and then remove it in the Plugins WP menu"
I know how to disable it but then the only other option is to "delet" it which will then erase the data files.
PLEASE walk me through the steps that you are suggesting.
Thanks

I have deleted the plugin and reinstalled as per your suggestion but still get the dreared red error message.
I have used this plugin on the site in the past and never had this issue
Please tell me how to fix it and a step-by-step explanation of the process would finally solve this problem.
thanks
