Limited availability during the holidays

Another busy year is coming to its end, and an exciting year lies ahead. In order to get ready for a fresh new start, our team will spend a few days' rest during the winter holidays. Over the holiday break, we will have reduced staffing from December 20th, 2024, to January 5th, 2025, so please be patient if you do not receive a response as quickly as you normally would.

We send our warmest wishes for happiness, health, and success throughout the coming year. Thank you for your continued support, and may you have a peaceful and blessed Happy Holidays!

    Hi

I purchased LayerSlider and work with it since 2015 in combination with the theme Enfold from Kriesi. As you can see on our webpage, LayerSlider is present in a lot of places (specially on the Home, and "über uns".

I usually make my updates regularly (WP and PlugIns). So lately I wanted to update my old version (5.6.7) of LayerSlider to your latest and as I did it, first the plugin couldn't be installed because "Folder already exists". So I renamed the old one and installed LS6 wich worked fine then.
As I reloaded my Webpage, the whole Layout was completely destroyed and I had to replace the Website with a BackUp.

That said, I defined some classes in the custom CSS wich I use in the LayerSlider. How ever, when I turn off custom css, the layout is still a mess. It looks like there is a big problem with height and parallax in general.

At the moment I reuse LS 5.6.7 wich works better... (Some functionality doesn't work though, like for example the bullets and thumbnails who disappeared) but with LS6, no way to let it like it is!

The new features looks absolutely great and really I want to use them as soon as possible! ;-)
I'm looking forward for your help and your inputs to make it work again. Please let me know what I can do to make it more easy for you to find out...

    Regards,
    Eric

    Hey Eric,

It would have been good to see the issue live to be sure, but even without seeing it I'm quite confident that the Enfold theme is interfering.
Unfortunately Enfold applies its own skin and CSS on the slider which cannot be easily removed or overwritten. The navigation areas are also affected by this.

The new version of LayerSlider has drastically changed, basically it was rewritten. It falls apart in your site because the theme is still applying the same skin/CSS on it as before, but the slider itself is so different now that these codes do not 'fit' anymore, resulting in the issues you see.

Unfortunately the problem is not generated on our end so we cannot really fix it. I'd recommend contacting the Enfold team with this case, they should be able to provide more insight on this matter.

    Hi Attila

Thx for your reply, you have confirmed to me what I have already suspected... I first had contact with an Enfold supporter to explain my problem and it seems that they are a bit overloaded with this issue. So I guess, they will do nothing in the near future... :-(

However, I can't begin from scratch with all the LayerSlider I made - there are a lot of them and I don't have the time.
I just hope, I will not be forced to redesign my clients webpage with a future Update of WP or Enfold!

I wish you a lot of success with vers.6 of LS and thank you.

    Best regards,
    Eric
